Robin is Canadian-Indian born and raised. Rick is Mexican-American from Los Angeles, California. They met in Optometry school in Puerto Rico back in 2011. They instantly became friends, and over the four years of school together, they fell in love. After graduation, they decided to move to Texas together to start their careers. Rick proposed in 2019. They love to travel and took advantage of a trip to Turks and Caicos to make stunning engagement photos.

They chose Mexico for their destination wedding, and selected one a venue with as much energy as the two of them, Hard Rock Riviera Maya in Cancun. Their celebration took place over several days. They started with a Jaggo night, which included the Maiya ceremony, Choora ceremony and Jaggo party. It was an incredible event where the two families danced and enjoyed it as if they had always been one big family! The Hindu weddings are always so bright and vibrant, and the colorful garb had the wedding photographers swooning.


The next morning, the Baraat and Milni started at 10 am. Rick and the majority of the guests woke up all the tourists who were on vacation trying to sleep in as they paraded through the hotel banging on drums, dancing and singing at the top of their lungs.  

The Anand Karaj, Sikh marriage ceremony followed, on a beautiful wooden terrace by the sea. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a Punjabi vegan lunch spread. Once Robin and Rick had refueled their energy, they ventured around the marvelous locations with their Cancun wedding photographers for incredible couple portraits in their gorgeous outfits.


After another wardrobe change, Robin and Rick headed to the ballroom for their wedding reception and party. The decoration was delicate and beautiful, and the wedding photographers were so excited to see how the newlyweds transformed an ordinary space into a romantic starlit sky. Things just kept getting better as  the night continued. Everyone was surprised that to celebrate Mexican culture and pay homage to the country in which they selected to have their Hindu destination wedding, Robin and Rick included a Mexican Folk presentation. The performers were spectacular, and everyone got a chance to see how Mexico has progressed throughout history.

After the presentation, the newlyweds took to the dance floor for their first dance, and afterwards, everyone jumped in to party all night. It was a weekend full of emotions and a lot of love!
