David and Christian D. Started their relationship online. The first date was a casual meeting, just a coffee at “Juan Valdez”, a typical coffee store in Colombia, on February 22, 2020.

Little did they know that their simple coffee date would convert into hours of good conversation without uncomfortable silence.

As everybody knows, when you find the right person, time flies and its as if you are in a vortex where nothing else matters. After their first date, they agreed they both wanted another meeting as soon as possible. Christian David lived in Miami and David in Medellin, but they didn’t let that damper the desire for them to spend time together. 

Soon after their first date, as we all can remember, time stopped for all of us; as the pandemic hit the earth and no one was able to live their lives as they once had. With Christian David in Miami and David in Medellin, their online connection grew stronger. They kept if fresh with lunches, dinners, and cocktails over the internet. And one thing stayed consistent; their conversations continued comfortably and natural. 

They lived for almost a year in a virtual relationship. After a long wait, David traveled to Miami, and they felt they were personally rediscovering themselves in real life.

Once the decision was made that they wanted to remain together forever, and the proposal was accepted, they wanted to make their celebration something special. Since so many of us had been locked down or cooped up one place, they wanted to travel and do something different.

They chose to have their destination wedding in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. And couldn’t be happier with the dreamy venue of Blue Venado, which is situated on the route Cancun to Tulum. Christian and David definitely had a vision and it was the first time their destination wedding photographers ever saw such an incredible display of sunflowers. Sunflowers on the tables, on the wedding arch, and incorporated in their boutonnieres! They integrated Mexican culture with skulls on the tables and skeletons on their cake topper.

It was an intimate destination wedding affair with the couple getting ready together, which added a touch of sweetness as they helped each other get dressed before the ceremony. Their ceremony was full of emotion and as they exited the ceremony, blue smoke flares were shot off into the sky to mark the occasion. 

 

After wedding portraits as well as photos with their guests, they headed to the palapa for a night of dancing and joy. The Cancun photographers were happy to be a part of such an adoring couples wedding in Mexico, and wish them all the love in their lives.
