Anuksha + Sameer
Anuksha and Sameer’s story begins in 2011, when they met during their freshman year of college. Sameer attended NJIT and Anuksha attended Rutgers, both in Newark, New Jersey, and directly across from each other. They met through mutual friends in college and became nothing more than just acquaintances. Their sophomore year of college, they coincidentally lived in the same building and right down the hall from one another. It wasn’t really until their junior year of college where they started to see more of each other. They did happen to randomly run into each other from time to time, whether it was out with friends or celebrating holidays like New Years in NYC.
Finally, in the summer of 2015, things started to turn around. Anuksha had just finished a cruise with her family, and was at her hotel in Florida. She suddenly received a text from Sameer, and out of nowhere and he was trying to make conversation. Sameer took her on their first date to Grand Lux, and they celebrated their first Halloween together as Jasmine and Aladdin. Not a long time after, on Christmas Eve, Sameer asked Anuksha to be his girlfriend
Four years later, Sameer asked Anuksha to marry him at the same place he asked her to be his girlfriend! She was truly shocked, as she had no expectations of her proposal. However, without hesitation, she said, yes and there were officially fiancés.
Anuksha & Sameer wanted a fantastic celebration for all their family and friends to remember. And since they knew their wedding would be a three-day event. They decided on a South Asian Destination Wedding in Mexico to give their guests the best vacation experience alongside their wedding festivities. As they were searching for South Asian Wedding Photographers to document their love story, they came across Cossu Photography. Since the couple was going to be in Mexico visiting locations for their Hindu destination wedding, they met up with the Mexican wedding photographers for a romantic engagement photo session in Puerto Morelos.
Anuksha and Sameer and the wedding photographers hit it off, and only one year later, it was time for their highly anticipated South Asian destination wedding weekend at The Royalton Riviera Cancun!
Anuksha and Sameer pulled out all the stops and had four different events in three days! They started things off with a Henna party. The couple hired Loto Mehendi to help decorate the couple and guests with intricate design while they enjoyed music and dancing.
After four days of rain, the morning of the Pithi, the sun was shining, the sea was calm, clear and a thousands of butterflies visited the celebration. As the sun set, it was time to celebrate Sameer with the traditional Baraat. The groom looked like the royalty, and his bride like a real queen! The wedding photographers fell in love with the couple all over again, and were ecstatic photographing them! The night came, but the energy remained high, as they transitioned to the sangeet, where everyone danced on the beach under the stars!
The final day of festivities included the South Asian wedding ceremony at the Royalton Riviera Cancun’s gazebo. For the occasion the bride dressed in white, and the groom in a cream suit. They shared sweet moments as their guests watch in admiration for the wonderful love they have found in one another. As the night continued, the celebration was off the charts. Everyone made that last night the best party they have ever attended. The dance floor was full all night long, and the wedding photographers had a blast capturing all the fantastic dance moves!
