Kristina and Rick’s Casa Chanty elopement was an intimate beach wedding in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Surrounded by a simple floral arrangement and meaningful symbols of their shared faith, they exchanged emotional vows and celebrated the beginning of their married life beside the Caribbean Sea.

HOW KRISTINA AND RICK MET

Kristina and Rick first met on a blind date and immediately felt a strong connection. They believe that God brought them together and describe their relationship as a friendship, partnership and bond between two soulmates.

Their faith and affection became central parts of their relationship. The way they communicate, support one another and enjoy being together made it clear that they had found a partner with whom they wanted to share their lives.

Before their wedding, we had the opportunity to discover that connection during an engagement photography session in Playa del Carmen.

AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN

Kristina and Rick first met Cossu Photography when they selected us to document their engagement session. Together, we explored the streets of Playa del Carmen before continuing the experience on the beach.

Their affection and playful energy were visible throughout the session. They interacted naturally, allowing us to create photographs that reflected their personalities without relying on rigid poses or forced moments.

Rick also brought a special gift for Kristina to open during the session. Her reaction became another personal moment within the story, giving the photographs an emotional meaning beyond the location itself.

Spending this time together before the wedding allowed us to understand their relationship and helped Kristina and Rick feel completely comfortable in front of our cameras.

RETURNING TO MEXICO FOR THEIR ELOPEMENT

When Kristina and Rick decided to elope in Mexico, they contacted Cossu Photography again to continue documenting the milestones of their relationship.

Returning to photograph their wedding created a natural continuation of the story that had begun during their engagement session. We already understood how they interacted and could concentrate on preserving the emotions and details surrounding their ceremony.

Instead of organising a large wedding, they chose an intimate celebration that reflected their relationship, beliefs and desire to concentrate on one another.

AN INTIMATE BEACH CEREMONY AT CASA CHANTY

Kristina and Rick held their ceremony on the beach at Casa Chanty in the Riviera Maya. Floral arches and crosses formed part of the setting, representing the importance of their shared faith and commitment.

They exchanged emotional vows beside the sea and toasted to their marriage and the new chapter they were beginning together. The intimate surroundings allowed every expression and gesture to become an important part of the ceremony.

Our documentary approach gave the couple space to experience these moments without interruption. We focused on their connection, the symbols they had chosen and the natural atmosphere surrounding their Casa Chanty elopement.

PLAYFUL WEDDING PORTRAITS ON THE BEACH

After the ceremony, Kristina and Rick ran, laughed and played together on the beach. Their happiness was visible in every interaction, creating spontaneous photographs that reflected the joyful side of their relationship.

Rather than directing every movement, we followed them along the sand and allowed the portrait session to develop naturally. Their smiles, energy and affection became the foundation of the photographs.
