Jessica and Michael’s destination wedding at Dreams Tulum combined an ocean-view ceremony, boho-inspired details and a joyful garden reception in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Their celebration reflected their sense of humour, affectionate connection and willingness to embrace the unexpected.

HOW JESSICA AND MICHAEL MET

Jessica and Michael’s story began during Jessica’s birthday dinner. Michael approached her table and asked if he could buy her a drink, but Jessica declined. Instead of leaving, he pulled up a chair, ordered a meal and joined Jessica and her friends for dinner.

At the end of the evening, Michael surprised everyone by paying the bill for the entire table. He asked Jessica once again if he could buy her a drink, and this time they exchanged telephone numbers.

Their first encounter was memorable, but their relationship did not begin immediately. They did not speak for an entire year. When Jessica eventually sent Michael a message, they met for a drink. Three months later, they were officially dating.

A ROMANTIC PROPOSAL IN EDINBURGH

Six years later, Jessica and Michael travelled to London to attend a friend’s wedding. Michael offered to take Jessica anywhere she wanted during their trip, and she chose Scotland.

He organised their journey and reserved a suite overlooking Edinburgh Castle. During a romantic dinner at The Witchery, Michael proposed after dessert. The thoughtful setting and surprise reflected the adventurous and unexpected character of their relationship.

AN UNEXPECTED MEETING AT DREAMS TULUM

The way Jessica and Michael met Cossu Photography was another unexpected part of their story. Our team was photographing a destination wedding at Dreams Tulum and working with a bride during a portrait session in the resort lobby.

Jessica and Michael saw us photographing the couple and approached us to request our information. That spontaneous meeting eventually led them to choose Cossu Photography to document their own destination wedding at the same resort.

Meeting them naturally in the place where they would later celebrate their wedding made returning to Dreams Tulum for their day especially meaningful.

AN OCEAN-VIEW CEREMONY AT DREAMS TULUM

Jessica and Michael held their wedding ceremony on a terrace overlooking the ocean. The elevated setting provided views of the Caribbean Sea while allowing their guests to remain closely connected to the couple and the ceremony.

Their personalities were present throughout the day. Their humour, affection and relaxed energy created spontaneous interactions that could be photographed naturally without interrupting the experience.

The ceremony photographs preserve both the coastal setting and the reactions shared between Jessica, Michael and the people closest to them.

A BOHO WEDDING RECEPTION IN THE GARDENS

After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a reception in the gardens of Dreams Tulum. The boho-inspired decoration complemented the tropical surroundings and created a warm atmosphere for the evening.

The design and coordination brought together the work of Mango Weddings and Cherry Blossom. Their contribution helped give Jessica and Michael’s wedding its distinctive visual identity while maintaining the relaxed character of the resort.

The garden reception was filled with joyful conversations, laughter and movement. We documented the celebration as it unfolded, focusing on the couple’s connection and the candid moments shared with their guests.
