Navjeet + Cristiam
Navjeet and Cristiam’s Sikh wedding in Riviera Maya brought together Indian and Colombian families for three days of traditions, emotion and celebration at Generations Resort. Their multicultural destination wedding included two ceremonies, two receptions, a Mehndi celebration and an energetic Baraat.
AN INDIAN AND COLOMBIAN LOVE STORY
A wedding always represents the union of two people and their families. For Navjeet and Cristiam, it also brought together two cultures, creating a celebration filled with the colours, traditions and energy of India and Colombia.
Family remained at the heart of the entire experience. Both sides celebrated every event with enthusiasm, supporting the couple and embracing the traditions that made the wedding meaningful to them.
Rather than limiting the celebration to a single day, Navjeet and Cristiam planned three days of events. This allowed their guests to spend time together, experience the different ceremonies and become part of a shared cultural journey.
THREE DAYS OF WEDDING EVENTS AT GENERATIONS RESORT
Generations Resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, became the setting for the complete wedding weekend. The programme included two ceremonies and two receptions, giving the couple the opportunity to honour their families and celebrate different aspects of their backgrounds.
Each event introduced a new atmosphere, with different clothing, rituals, music and emotional moments. The multi-day schedule also gave the families time to connect naturally rather than experiencing everything within only a few hours.
For Cossu Photography, following the celebration across three days made it possible to document the complete story and the relationships that developed around Navjeet and Cristiam.
MEHNDI CELEBRATION AND SIKH WEDDING TRADITIONS
The Mehndi was one of the events leading into the wedding ceremonies. The intricate designs, colourful clothing and interactions between relatives and friends created meaningful photographs while everyone prepared for the days ahead.
We focused on the smaller moments happening around the principal traditions: conversations between family members, spontaneous laughter, affectionate gestures and the anticipation surrounding the couple.
Documenting a Sikh and multicultural wedding requires attention to the meaning of each event and the people participating in it. Our approach allowed the traditions to unfold naturally while preserving both the important rituals and the candid moments surrounding them.
AN ENERGETIC BARAAT IN THE RIVIERA MAYA
The Baraat brought movement, music and energy to the wedding celebration. Family and friends gathered around the couple and participated enthusiastically, creating an atmosphere filled with colour and happiness.
These moments were documented from within the celebration, allowing the photographs to communicate the experience rather than only showing how it looked. The movement, expressions and interactions between guests became an essential part of the visual story.
TWO CEREMONIES AND TWO RECEPTIONS
Navjeet and Cristiam celebrated with two ceremonies and two receptions across their three-day wedding. This structure allowed them to recognise their different family backgrounds while creating one unified celebration.
The wedding included beautiful food, emotional exchanges and unexpected moments throughout the weekend. Both families participated fully in every event, making the experience feel welcoming, energetic and deeply personal.
By the end of the final reception, Navjeet and Cristiam’s family invited their photographers to join the party. That gesture reflected the warmth we experienced throughout the wedding and the connection created with everyone involved.
DOCUMENTARY SIKH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Cossu Photography documented Navjeet and Cristiam’s wedding through candid storytelling, emotional photography and refined portraits. Our coverage followed the complete three-day experience rather than concentrating only on the main ceremony.
Photographing a multi-day Sikh wedding means anticipating important rituals while remaining aware of the spontaneous moments happening between them. Family reactions, movement, quiet exchanges and joyful celebrations all contribute to the couple’s complete story.
The resulting gallery preserves the colour and energy of the events as well as the intimate relationships that made the wedding meaningful.
INDIAN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN ITALY AND MEXICO
Based in Tuscany, Cossu Photography photographs Indian, Sikh, Hindu and multicultural destination weddings in Italy, Mexico and worldwide. Our international experience helps us understand the rhythm of multi-day weddings and document different traditions with sensitivity and respect.
Navjeet and Cristiam’s Sikh wedding in Riviera Maya demonstrates how two cultures can be honoured within one celebration. This experience also informs the way we photograph multicultural couples planning their weddings in Tuscany and throughout Italy, always preserving the authentic identity of their families and traditions.
