Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya wedding Photography

Wedding Shannon + Phillip

Shannon and Phillip are college sweethearts, who met at a bar at the University of Illinois and have been together for six and a half years. Phillip had planned to pop the question on a hike at Starved Rock. But they had so much fun on the hike and were engaged in conversation the entire time, he ended up getting down on one knee in the parking lot before they left, so he could seize the opportunity.

Phil is an entrepreneur. He owns a bar and restaurant, owns a CBD company, and owns and rents properties. Shannon is an ER nurse. They both have very busy schedules, but when they get a chance, they enjoy spending time with their friends, skiing, and enjoying time on lake Michigan.

Their destination wedding was at one of our favorite hotels, Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya. The perfect mixture of nature and the colonial style architecture makes a unique atmosphere for a wedding in Cancun. There are a lot of spots to take amazing destination wedding pictures! Shannon and Phillip booked a room for their wedding photographers, so they could get to know the couple and their tribe.

On the first day, the photographers made a beautiful session with the Shannon’s family at the hotel’s gardens. That evening, they welcomed all their guests with a cocktail event at Don Miguel Bar. There, they enjoyed delicious martinis and had the opportunity meet everyone who travelled so far to be a part of this destination wedding.

The wedding ceremony was emotional and full of love. Following the ceremony, there was time to enjoy a couple’s session. As the sun sank beyond the horizon, they headed to the reception and were greeted with cheers and applause. The couple was blessed by Valentin, Imperial Wedding Planner Fabiola, who put her best foot forward and made their special day run smoothly from start to finish. It was bittersweet as the night came to an end, because Shannon and Tim made the wedding photographers feel like part of the family, and they were a bit sad to part ways with such wonderful souls. However, they were grateful to have been a part of the experience and wish the newlyweds a bright and loving future together.
